What type of battery, how many hours do batteries last and will they work in a clear mason jar?
This item is not a battery light. It has a 2 prong household plug. If you are looking for battery lights, here is a link: https://www.christmas-light-source.com/collections/battery-operated-christmas-lights

Will one end of these light be able to put down a wine bottle?
Yes, the end of this light string ends in a single bulb and can be fed down the neck of a wine bottle. The set is made with a single plug.

Is there a block-like connector at both ends? I'm trying to use them to put through a small hole so one end would have to be small enough to fit. The hole is like the size of a nickel or dime
There is only one male plug on the end of this light string. There is no female plug at the end. The bulbs on this set are the same size as those on a traditional Christmas tre light set. The hole would need to be closer to the size of a nickel. A dime sized hole would be almost too small to easily fit the bulb and wire.
