How do professional installers branch off of C7/C9 Christmas Lights on a roofline to get power to a dormer?

Install an inline female Gilbert plug! Then you can run an extension cord to the dormer! Of course, you still have to make sure you don't overload your breaker or wire.
Note, this SPT-1 plug is for 18 AWG wire only.
Installation is easy and quick. Simply lay the 18 gauge cord into the channel on the top of the plug. Holding with one hand use your other thumb to slide the door closed. This can take some effort since the teeth inside the plug have to pierce the insulation.

Did you accidentally break the slide tab on your plug? We do sell green replacement tabs for these plugs.

Consider adding a couple to your order, especially if you are a professional installer pressed for time and running several crews.

Please test your lights when you receive them! Everyone is happier when we resolve issues quickly.

Our warranty for all our products is 90 days of normal, seasonal use. If a product is defective or fails during the 90 days following receipt of your order, please contact us right away. We will work with you to troubleshoot the problem, and if the issue is not easily and quickly resolved, we will correct the situation.

Shipping

January - July: Orders are shipped Monday - Thursday within 1-2 business days.

August - December: Orders are shipped Monday - Friday within 1-2 business days. 

Orders are not shipping during the weekend or on major holidays.

Returns

We accept returns of products in original, like-new condition within 45 days after an order is received. After receipt of the return at our location, the amount of the purchase price should be credited within 5 business days. Return and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Eligible products have not been installed and are in their original packaging in like-new condition. If returned products are received within 45 days of receiving your order, there is no restocking fee. After 45 days, a 15% restocking fee will be deducted from your merchandise credit. No returns are accepted after 60 days.

Upon receipt of your return, your account will be credited for the cost of the products. Shipping charges are not credited.

The title says it all!! The clip slide in and holds the wire strongly in place. The make end plugs easily into an outlet or extension cord with ease!! Allowed me to custom make my own power cord and we got the results we were looking for!!

These plugs are installed in seconds with only a 1/4" snip to separate the two strands. They allowed me to customized my string and eliminate the bulk of leftover sockets. Great flexibility.

Shipping Policy

We are currently shipping Monday - Friday with most orders shipping the same or next business/shipping day. 

Once an order is placed it is put immediately into a shipping queue, this means we cannot cancel or modify your order once completed. If you have ordered incorrectly, you can return any uninstalled items that have been shipped to you. See our Shipping, Warranty, and Returns page for more information.

To Prevent Delays

Please double-check the address. Include a correct phone number to be used only if there is an issue with the order.  We do not ship to PO Boxes. Orders with PO Box addressing will be delayed while the customer is contacted and the address is corrected.

To prevent delays: Confirm the wire color of all items. Confirm that bulbs and cords match (for example, C7 with C7, C9 with C9, E12 bulb with E12 cord). Confirm SPT rating of cords and plugs match.

Delivery Timeframe Notices Regarding Air Orders (Excluding Holidays)

Orders placed via ground service should arrive in 1-5 business days depending on your zip code. This estimate does not include weekends or major Holidays.  

2-Day air orders shipped on Thursday do not arrive Saturday but should arrive the following Monday. Next-Day orders shipped on Friday do not arrive Saturday but should arrive the following Monday. No orders are delivered on the weekend and the weekend does not count as days in transit.

Due to these unprecedented times and high shipping volumes, UPS and FedEx do not guarantee the day and time of any method of shipping, including 2-Day and Next Day Air Service.

To ensure prompt shipping verify that your order is correct. Please do the following checks:

1. Confirm bulb bases and cord sockets match. 
2. Confirm 18 AWG wire SPT rating matches the SPT rating of plugs.
3. For bulk C7/C9 bulbs and cords orders, don't forget gilbert plugs, if required.
4. Double-check the wire color on all strings lights.
