How do professional installers branch off of C7/C9 Christmas Lights on a roofline to get power to a dormer?
Install an inline female Gilbert plug! Then you can run an extension cord to the dormer! Of course, you still have to make sure you don't overload your breaker or wire.
Note, this SPT-1 plug is for 18 AWG wire only.
Installation is easy and quick. Simply lay the 18 gauge cord into the channel on the top of the plug. Holding with one hand use your other thumb to slide the door closed. This can take some effort since the teeth inside the plug have to pierce the insulation.
Did you accidentally break the slide tab on your plug? We do sell green replacement tabs for these plugs.
Consider adding a couple to your order, especially if you are a professional installer pressed for time and running several crews.
