I purchased these ridge clips after deciding to extend my light display from just gutters to the whole outline of the roof. They worked great! I have C9 ceramic light strands and they clipped on just fine. A few snapped as I went but that's to be expected with hard plastic. We've had some really windy days shortly after placement and they've held on tightly! Ordered 50 more in preparation for next year.
I tried to be very careful with these when bending them around, and still broke 1 tab off 60-70 percent of them. It was also sunny and in the upper 50's, so they really shouldn't have been overly brittle. I never broke both tabs off of 1 making any of them useless, but it was still pretty frustrating. They do the job as intended as far as holding the bulbs up on the ridge cap the way I wanted, but still couldn't give them any more stars because of the price/quality. Tyler, customer service will be giving you a call. Thanks for giving your feedback.
Clips I ordered were fine, but I paid second day air and the product came in ground Fed Ex 4 days later.
I loved the concept, but I was skeptical of the quality based on the reviews I read here. So I took the plunge and bought them anyways.I didn't have a single piece break on me - these held up well & showed up in a well packaged, timely manner. Couldn't be happier with the product or with this company. Will definitely come back if I need anything.
I loved this clips. Made my house stand out from my neighbors because they don't know how to place lights on the ridge without using staples. I read the reviews and other's concerns with the clip breaking at the hinge and I decided to use them straight and not try to bend them. It worked great and keeps the bulbs pointing in a horizontal direction which I honestly prefer to avoid rainwater shorting the outlet. I really recommend this product since there's no need to bend/break the clip. I hope this helps others.
Love the clips, but of the 100 I used 16 broke. It would be nice if they came in other colors so they didn't stand out so much on the roof.
These work great, but they have one major flaw - when bending the arm to the 90 degree position, the arm hinge often breaks - rendering the device useless. Workaround: Heat the plastic to about 100 degrees (in oven or in sunny warm climate), then bend the arm. Better: Redesign the hinge so it will last for many seasons of use.
These clips work great if they don't break when bending them in to place. I am glad I bought an extra back because about 20% of the clips broke when I went to bend them in to position. I even had my wife try a few to make sure it wasn't my "strength" but just as many broke when she tried
While installing the clips, out of 1 bag I ended up with 9 clips breaking otherwise works good. I hope I have enough good ones in the other bags to finish the job.
