Do these light heat up when turned on for a while?

Hello. Yes. These light strings are incandescent glass bulbs. They create light using heat.
is the plug a male/female type?

This set of craft lights only has a 2-prong male plug that is also stackable. There is not a female plug on this set.
Are these the Italian lights? I do not want led lights.

This set is made with traditional, glass, incandescent bulbs.They are not LED.
Exactly how big are these bulbs? Are they really a mini size or standard Christmas tree bulb size? I want the really small ones

These really are the size of a standard Christmas tree light string bulb - also known as a mini light bulb. They would not be considered really small.
