What is the spacing between bulbs?

Are the C-9 opaque bulbs painted on the inside or outside?
These bulbs are painted on the outside.

These bulbs are made of glass and painted with an opaque, matt paint whose appearance is referred to as "ceramic" or opaque. Vintage cermic bulbs were also glass with opaque, matte paint. I hope this helps answer your question.
