We love this project that combines two of our favorite centerpiece and tablescape containers: mason jars and lanterns!

The different colored mason jars make it super easy to change the look of the lantern. Pick up a wedding or prom theme accent color and fill with a set of white battery lights. We love the ease of working with the micro drop or fairy style of lights with their super-thin wiring.

Just don't tighten the lids down too tightly. Tuck the battery box under the lantern or under the jar.

Materials

• Different sized jars in various colors - we used short smooth jars here but traditional canning jars work great as well
• Lanterns - we love this white filigree lantern from IKEA
• Battery lights - we use white for these photos but warm yellow, red and blue are great choices as well
