Outdoor String Lights
How are you decorating your backyard?
- Porch overhang?
This past summer we purchased our first pergola and a “real” set of outdoor furniture that came with a 7-year warranty and solar resistant fabric. Happy day.
One of the primary things we were looking forward to was lighting it up. Creating your own oasis in your backyard whether it’s 10x10 or half an acre is a fun and personal project.
Lighting it can take what is lovely over the top to absolutely fantastic.
We’ve really enjoyed these lights and they’ve been the star of several parties this year.
The outdoor string lights sold in this category are sold separately as cords and bulbs so you can customize your purchase based on your application.
Some questions you’ll need to answer as you decide on the perfect lights include:
- How many lights do I think will be sufficient?
- Do I have enough current available from my electrical service to power the number of lights I’m interested in?
- Should I go incandescent or LED bulbs? Do I want green, black or white strings?
- Do I want extensions at the base of each bulb? (We also call them suspenders.)
Most of the lights in this category are based on bulbs that have medium or E26 sized bases but we do offer one G40 round incandescent bulb that will work with a traditional C9 cord. (You may even have a C9 cord stored with your Christmas decorations.)
These lights are tailored for either indoor or outdoor use and are the type that you’ll see in restaurants, commercial movie sets and commercial retail installations.
