Wedding Design Guide
Weddings are a time of magic and romance...an event that will create memories that last a lifetime for both the bride and groom, and for their loved ones who celebrate their special day with them. The decorations used at the wedding and the reception will set the mood for the event. Lighting of all kinds will lend warmth, ambiance, and romance to your wedding decor and create an event that will evoke sweet memories for years to come.
Staircases look stunning adorned with chiffon and white mini lights intertwined together and then swagged down the banister to create a beautiful focal point. Mini lights are attractive simply used alone to outline everything from windows, doorways, railings, and columns.
Battery operated white lights provide the perfect amount of light and sparkle to table centerpieces for the reception. The battery pack is easily concealed when nestled inside the arrangement, so all you see are the mini lights. Used in conjunction with mirror tiles, mini white lights will sparkle and reflect against the mirror and create a romantic setting for the wedding party and the guests as they enjoy delicious food and lighthearted conversation.
Create dazzling glass bricks or "gifts" as table centerpieces by using battery operated white lights wrapped inside organza or chiffon fabric tied with a bow that coordinates with the wedding party colors.
Mini lights powered with a battery pack and nestled into a floral decoration will dress up windowsills underneath beautiful stain glass windows in any church, and add to the overall décor for the ceremony. Battery operated lights are also perfect for using inside luminaries to light a path either to the ceremony or to the reception. Imagine luminaries lit in the twilight of the evening, along a sandy beach path, leading down to the water where the bride and groom will pledge their lives to each other. It would be so romantic!
For an outdoor wedding, mini white string lights work well when intertwined in an arbor above a patio, or to decorate and outline a gazebo. Use the lights by themselves, or to wind around large bunches of tulle. Outdoor tents look anything but boring when they're decorated with white mini lights, tulle, flowers, and bows.
Tulle and mini white lights strung together and hung on tulle stands are a beautiful way to line the aisle leading to the front of the church or for an outside wedding, gently drawing the bride and her bridesmaids to the arbor or gazebo where the groom and his groomsmen await. Walking amidst a path of lights will make every bride feel beautiful and special.
Ice sculptures are seen at many wedding receptions and are absolutely exquisite when accented with lights. Icicle lights will look fantastic adorning the table on which the ice sculpture is displayed. If you have a light colored tablecloth, consider hanging the icicle lights behind the cloth so that when they're turned on, they'll create a warm, soft light that is seen from behind the fabric. If you prefer bright light, string them around the outside of the tablecloth. If the ice sculpture is up against a wall, hang a curtain of mini lights behind it to create a wall of lights that will shine both through and around the ice sculpture. Be prepared for your guests to "oooh" and "aaahh" when the lights come on and the ice sculpture is illuminated!
Tabletops such as the wedding party table, buffet table, cake table, and gift table will look gorgeous when decorated with strings of white mini lights and tulle.
Will your outside wedding reception likely go into the evening hours? Consider decorating surrounding trees with tree trunk mini lights. String mini white lights around bushes or other greenery surrounding your reception area. Fountains are especially beautiful when accented with C9 or C7 opaque or transparent lights.
Do you have columns in the reception hall? Incorporate them, (ok, hide them!), into your décor by twisting white rope lights around them to create a festive atmosphere. If you're using a light colored chiffon or tulle, consider stringing the lights inside of the fabric to create a different, softer look once the lights go down. White mini lights, chiffon, and green ivy are a stunning accent for almost any wedding decor.
A canopy of mini lights strung across the ceiling, dance floor, or outdoor area makes for an enchanting place to dance, eat, or enjoy the festivities. Curtain lights on white wire create the perfect backdrop on a wall or curtain behind the wedding party table at the reception. Suspend curtain lights from the ceiling to create a canopy of lights over the dance floor or the entire reception area and you'll instantly fill the room with romance.
Mini lights can be used in the same way garland is used. Use them to accent the DJ's table or booth. Will you have several mini bars set up around the reception hall? Outline or illuminate them with mini lights so your guests will be able to locate them easily once the lights go down for dancing. Outline doorways of the reception hall from the inside for added accents.
Topiaries are a popular choice of décor for both weddings and receptions. Topiaries look great during the day, but would look great in the evening hours decorated with mini white lights. String some from the top of the topiary, around the long stem, and then pool some around the base for a beautiful effect.
Once the festivities are over, send home the light sets with the new couple so they can decorate their home not only during the holidays, but also for every day romance and ambiance.
