We have customers call us every week asking about how to repair or replace their yard sculptures. Here is some of our advice....
Our Christmas Lights Recycling program has run continuously for over 4 years and continues to operated in 2013.
We are amazed at the number of people who take advantage of this program every year. We receive several boxes of lights every day from all over the country.
That's a good question. And one we hear from time to time.
It's 99% odds that the culprit is your set of batteries. As the battery lights drain the batteries, bulbs randomly start to dim. They don't go out all at once. This is true of the incandescent and the LED sets. In fact, on the LED sets that are multi color, the blue and green bulbs go dimmer before the rest of the bulbs.
Your favorite team is playing this week. You're decorating for a prom. Perhaps you'd like multi-color lights but you don't want traditional, you'd like teal, purple, pink and yellow.
You'd like customized colors in your Christmas lights. I'd like to give you some ideas for customizing your display.
Can I successfully use C7 LED Christmas Light Bulbs with threaded brass base in strings of 50 bulbs and if so, how many strings can I attach together? -Brian
The C7 LED bulbs can fit into any standard E12 (candelabra) base socket wire.
For LED bulbs the maximum length of cord that you can run is not determined by the power draw of the bulb or the number of bulbs but the maximum run length of your cord.
When do I need an LED adapter for my light strings?
You've designed a spectacular Christmas light display and you realize that you need to gradually ramp up and down a few strands of mini lights as the tension builds to the high point of either Silent Night or Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer.
Now, you're wondering what kind of lights can be dimmed and ramped up with an increase or decrease of the voltage.
Here is the "Yes" answer:
LED burn-in is the slight change of color that occurs after a few weeks of operation. It's most noticeable in the white bulbs and sets because pigment in the LED lenses compensate for color change.
What this means is that if you have two identical sets of lights and you plug one in for several weeks then plug in the second set, they will be a slightly different color. The difference won't be dramatic and if you didn't tell an onlooker that there was a color difference, they might not even notice.
Here's a customer question we just received today:
I'm new to this service.
I have installed Christmas lights on two very small homes, plus my own home. What's the best way to get started ???????
I have asked a few of my commercial accounts and they want quotes.
Since everyone's situation is different, this is a really tricky question to answer. Each city has it's own codes and guidelines. And the last thing you want is to finish installing lights on a house and have an unhappy customer.
Here was our answer:
Most people are asking this question before purchasing Mini Lights or LED Christmas Light Strings.
So this answer will relate only to those products like Mini Lights
or LED String lights.
The answer depends on the set of lights you are considering and is based on the wattage rating of the strand of lights.
Each string of lights that you see on our website should have a maximum connectivity
specification listed. That's the number of strings that you can one together end-to-end.
When you think of Christmas, it's seeing and hearing from family that is
part of the reason this time of year is so special. As much as we love
all the other Holidays during the year, it's Christmas that pushes us
to reconnect with friends and family.
Of course, touching base
with everyone is becoming harder every year. I mean, who had 100's of
Facebook friends 10 year ago? Now that third cousin you barely knew
"likes" all the photos of your kids you post and it feels like you've
known each other forever.
