Every once in a while, a cord loses a socket due to exposure or the occasional misstep. For moments like these, a couple of sockets and caps are good to have in your Christmas lights stash. These sockets are not meant for building custom cords. Please see our full selection of C9 Christmas light cords for your project.

For more information about SPT-1 vs SPT-2 see this blog post.

C-9 replacement sockets

Sockets were fine the thing I did not like was the warehouse charge just to pull the item, Not good and will make me shop elsewhere next time.

Handy

I bought about ten because they're relatively cheap. I used two to add two lights to an extension cord running from one string to another. I was able to place them exactly where I wanted. I accidentally stepped on another socket on the leftover socketed wire. I'l use one to replace that too. Be careful because they do break kind of easy at the top when using channel locks to clamp the base on. Next time I'll put a scrap piece of wood on the top and maybe across the bottom too.

C9 socket

Very unhappy with the C9 socket. Everytime I attempted to press the base into the socket it would crack the bottom of the socket. I determined the prongs in the base were to thick and were the cause. I filed down the prongs to releave the stress on the socket and that worked. *Customer Service Note: Customer was attempting to install these SPT-2 items on SPT-1 cords. Make sure to match insulation rating or repair sockets to your cord's rating. Most "standard" cords are SPT-1 and thicker SPT-2 cords will have this info printed on the insulation.*
